This rod is teamed up with a quality Shimano Baitrunner 8000OC reel that has 3+1 stainless steel ball bearings for a smooth and consistent wind every time.
It has a bait-runner feature that enables the reel to go into free spool. This is an important feature when using live baits or large dead baits, because the fish can pick up and take the bait without any resistance, so that when you ‘strike’ you get a solid hook-up.
